Building Global Bridges in Medical Education!
On January 17th, 2025, MDKMITL had the privilege of joining the 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮-𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗣𝗚𝗠𝗘), a groundbreaking collaboration between Thai medical institutions and the 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮.
The event brought together thought leaders, including H.E. Ping Kitnikone, the Canadian Ambassador to Thailand, Tai Telesco, Associate Director of Development and Advancement from the Royal College Canada International (RCCI), Assoc. Prof. Alan Chaput, M.D., Vice Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, Ms. Nitchawan (Pan) Sriviboone, Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Canada in Thailand, and representatives from top Thai medical schools, including our very own Professor Anan Srikiatkhachorn, M.D., Dean of MDKMITL and Sranya Phaisawang, Ph.D., Associate Dean for International Affairs, MDKMITL. Together, they explored transformative innovations and shared best practices in medical education.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
1️. Emphasis on 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 and lifelong learning.
2️. Advancing residency selection, evaluation methods, and leveraging AI in medical training.
3️. Establishing global partnerships to enhance faculty development and curricular flexibility.
This inspiring exchange reaffirmed our commitment to innovation and collaboration in medical education. As the first medical program in Thailand to engage in an MOU with the RCCI, we will continue to pioneer initiatives that break boundaries and bring transformative changes to the healthcare landscape.
