Ethical Use of AI in Medical Education: A New Chapter in Responsible Innovation
As artificial intelligence continues to shape the future of healthcare, the Faculty of Medicine at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (MDKMITL) had the honor of hosting a pivotal two-day seminar entitled “Ethical Use of AI in Medical Education,” in collaboration with the Thai Medical Council (TMC) and the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools (COTMS). Held on 27–28 November 2025, the seminar brought together esteemed experts, educators, and policy leaders to explore the moral, academic, and clinical dimensions of Ai integration in medical education.
Dean of MDKMITL, Professor Dr. Somchai Tanawattanacharoen, M.D., and the entire MDKMITL team were on hand to welcome President of KMITL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Komsan Maleesee; Advisor for Ethical Promotion for Medical Student Subcommttiee, Thai Medical Council , Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasopsri Ungtavorn, M.D.; Secretary General of COTMS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Sirisup, M.D.; and Assistant to Secretary General, Thai Medical Council, Passakorn Wanchaijiraboon, M.D. along with other esteemed guests, speakers and attendees.
Through keynote lectures, panel discussions, symposiums, and group-based learning, participants engaged deeply with themes such as:
• Responsible and Explainable Ai
• Generative Ai in medical teaching
• Ai-powered research innovation
• Ethics in healthcare Ai services
• Delphi technique findings for future policy frameworks
This landmark event underscored Thailand’s leadership in advancing Ai literacy and ethical oversight, while reaffirming MDKMITL’s role as a future-facing institution committed to shaping 21st-century doctors equipped not only with digital fluency, but also ethical clarity.
From our great work over the past 2 days, we are dedicated to collective efforts with all stakeholders to devise Ai usage recommendations in medical education. As we look ahead, MDKMITL remains steadfast in our mission to promote safe, transparent, and human-centred adoption of emerging technologies to navigate the new and challenging Ai landscape of the future.
We are grateful to the Thailand Medical Council (TMC), Consortium of Thai Medical Schools (COTMS) all participating speakers, facilitators, and attendees from medical schools from across the nation for their commitment to thoughtful innovation. We thank King Mongkut Chaokhun Tharharn Hospital for being our venue for this MDKMITL event.
