On Friday, February 9, 2024, we were very excited to have received our guests from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. We started the eventful day with our first International Symposium of 2024 where Assoc. Prof. Brian Merkel, Ph.D., Chair of Human Biology, Assoc Prof. Debra Pearson, Ph.D., Director of Master of Nutrition & Integrated Health, and Assoc. Prof. Amanda Nelson, Ph.D., Associate Dean at the College of Science, Engineering & Architecture, were able to share their research initiatives and future collaboration opportunities with MDKMITL and the rest of our university.
Other speakers from KMITL included Assist. Prof. Pimpen Pornchaloempong, Ph.D., Head of Factory Classroom, Department of Food Engineering, School of Engineering, KMITL, Assoc. Prof. Sakon Rahong, Ph.D., from the College of Materials and Innovation Technology, KMITL, and Ukkrit Jansri, M.Sc., Scientist Researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, KMITL.
After the fruitful MDKMITL X UWGB International Symposium, we brought our visitors for quick tours of the KMC Hospital and the Food Engineering Factory Classroom before lunch at the Food Industry Kitchen. There we enjoyed an innovative Thai 3-course meal, created especially for our visitors.
We were then received by Assoc. Prof. Naphatrapi Luangsakul, Ph.D., Dean, School of Food Industry, KMITL, and were brought on a tour of the School of Food Industry’s facilities.
It was certainly a fun-filled and insightful experience for both of our institutions and we are excited to continue to create more exchange activities for students, researchers and instructors in the near future.
Thank you to Prof. Anan Srikiatkhachorn, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, KMITL and all of the great support by everyone in our faculty for such a wonderful event!
