World Culture Trip 2026 – Day 2
Day 2 focused on archaeology, transnational history, and the complexity of Southeast Asian civilization.
At Mueang Sing Historical Park, students analyzed Khmer influenced architecture and examined the regional connections of Mahayana Buddhism during the reign of Jayavarman VII.
The program then continued to Tham Krasae Railway Station along the historic Thailand Burma Railway. Although the scheduled train was delayed, students observed the site and reflected on its historical significance, gaining perspective on wartime history, infrastructure, and human resilience.
In the afternoon, students visited Ban Kao National Museum, where archaeological findings and prehistoric evidence reveal over 3,000 years of human settlement in the region. The visit reinforced understanding of early communities, material culture, and regional development.
This immersive experience strengthened analytical thinking by connecting material evidence, historical narratives, and regional transformation across centuries.
