The Annual MDKMITL Seminar 204
Day 1 of the Annual MDKMITL Seminar 2024
On Monday, May 27, 2024, during the MDKMITL Annual Seminar, faculty members went to Petchaburi Province. We participated in a program on wastewater and community waste management inspired by the King’s initiatives. Activities included expert lectures, a video presentation, a project tour, and exploring Laem Phak Bia. We also released Chitralada tilapia fish into treatment ponds as part of our CSR activities.
Afterwards, we officially kicked off our Annual Seminar 2024 with words from our founding Dean, Professor Anan Srikiatkhachorn, M.D., and our very special guest, Associate Professor Dr. Nantana Sirisup, M.D., Secretary General of Consortium of Thai Medical Schools (COTMES). We then continued with academic year overviews and a student feedback session which gives students an opportunity to share their thoughts on the previous year’s instruction. This feedback is always a great way to involve one of our stakeholders, the students. We are always looking for new ways to make meaningful improvements for current and future students in their international medical education program at Thailand’s FIRST international medical program at MDKMITL.
Overall, Day 1 was a success and we’ve got 2 more exciting days at the Annual MDKMITL Seminar 2024. We are always committed to pushing ourselves to becoming the best in what we do and to make sure that our Four Program Outcomes of 1) Professional Competency, 2) Research Capabilities, 3) 21st Century Skills and 4) Internationalization are achieved successfully.
Day 2 of the Annual MDKMITL Seminar 2024
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the day commenced with two insightful topics: “Principles of Assessment for Learning” and “Assessment in the Clinical Setting,” presented by our distinguished guest, Associate Professor Dr. Nantana Sirisup, M.D., who serves as the Secretary General of the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools (COTMES). Her expertise provided valuable insights into effective assessment strategies within medical education.
Following these presentations, we engaged in a group activity that focused on the selection of tools and the assessment of learning outcomes. The activity was designed to ensure that our program achieves excellence in several key areas: 1) Professional Competency, 2) Research Capabilities, 3) 21st Century Skills, and 4) Internationalization. Through modular-based learning, we aim to establish ourselves as the premier international medical education program.
We are excited about the valuable insights and collaborative efforts that emerged from these sessions, which will undoubtedly enhance our program. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to strive for excellence in international medical education.
Day 3 of the Annual MDKMITL Seminar 2024
On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the last day of the Annual MDKMITL Seminar 2024, we focused on summarizing the results of our discussions and activities. We reviewed the improvement plans and operational strategies for the upcoming year. These plans are crucial for the continuous development and enhancement of Thailand’s first international medical program at MDKMITL. Our collective efforts and insights from the seminar will guide us in implementing effective strategies to maintain and elevate our program’s standards.
We offer both an international medical program and a Master of Science program. Through our activities, we have improved the Master of Science program by enhancing 1) health and medical skills, 2) innovation skills, 3) design skills, and 4) entrepreneurship. We focus on preparing students for modern medical practices, fostering creative problem-solving, developing user-friendly medical devices, and equipping them with entrepreneurial skills. Overall, our programs produce well-rounded professionals who make significant contributions to the healthcare field.
The seminar concluded with a reflective session where participants shared their experiences and key takeaways. This collaborative environment fostered a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead. The insights gained will be instrumental in refining our approach and achieving our goal of becoming a leading international medical education program.
The Annual MDKMITL Seminar 2024 was a great success. We remain committed to striving for excellence in our international medical program.
