MDKMITL Welcomes Dr. Juliet Nyasulu for a Special International Symposium from Stellenbosch University, South Africa

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, MDKMITL had the honor of welcoming Dr. Juliet Nyasulu, a Senior Lecturer and Public Health expert from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, for a special international symposium. Dr. Sranya Phaisawang, Associate Dean for International Affairs, MDKMITL and Dr. Fingani Mphande-Nyasulu were on hand to personally welcome our esteemed guest.

Dr. Nyasulu delivered an insightful lecture on “Addressing Health System Gaps in the Southern African Region: A Case Study of Malawi and South Africa.” Our students were highly engaged, finding inspiration in Dr. Nyasulu’s presentation. She emphasized the importance of addressing healthcare disparities and the role of innovative approaches in strengthening health systems.

The lecture encouraged our young international medical students to actively pursue their studies with a global perspective, underscoring the significance of 21st-century skills in today’s competitive healthcare environment.
