On September 13, 2024, MDKMITL had the privilege of hosting Professor Hiroyuki Katoh, M.D., Ph.D., along with a group of medical students from the Tokai University School of Medicine. Our visitors were warmly welcomed and given a guided tour of our faculty building, where they were introduced to key facilities and educational resources.
On August 30, 2024, MDKMITL’s very own Associate Dean Thipawan Ruangrit M.D. and Dr. Kantaphong Thongrong attended Singapore Polytechnic’s first collaboration with one of its Regional Consortium Partners to co-host the event outside of Singapore.
On August 19, 2024, MDKMITL had the honor of welcoming a special guest speaker, Mr. Patrick Martens, Director of Food & Beverage, Ratchaprasong Food Services (RFS) to our English for Medical Professions Class. As an expert in hospitality, sustainability and supply chain, our Year 1 students were introduced to the diverse concepts of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and how they relate to us in the medical field and beyond.
On August 14, 2024, our Year 1 students took an educational trip to the Thai Red Cross Society, visiting the National Blood Centre and the Snake Farm at the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute (QSMI) in Bangkok. This trip offered students valuable insights into the important roles these institutions play in healthcare. The Philosophy of Medicine class was led by Dr. Weerachat Sompong, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, along with Dr. Sranya Phaisawang, Associate Dean for International Affairs, and Instructor Kantaphong Thongrong, M.D.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, MDKMITL had the honor of welcoming Dr. Juliet Nyasulu, a Senior Lecturer and Public Health expert from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, for a special international symposium. Dr. Sranya Phaisawang, Associate Dean for International Affairs, MDKMITL and Dr. Fingani Mphande-Nyasulu were on hand to personally welcome our esteemed guest.
On July 25, 2024, MDKMITL held its annual Wai Kru, White Coat and Award Ceremonies, a cherished tradition where students honor their medical teachers, both past and present, for their dedication and sacrifice to developing the most capable 21st Century doctors.
On July 23, 2024, marks the commencement of our Y2 Soft Cadaver Dissection Lab at the CU Surgical Training Center, MDCU. This initiative is led by our esteemed Dean, Professor Anan Srikiatkhachorn, M.D., along with the Deans Committee and our Physician Instructors. We extend our deepest respect to those who have generously donated their bodies to enhance the educational experience of our international medical students.
On July 10, 2024, we embarked on our first field trip for our first-year medical students as a part of the Medical Philosophy Class. The trip included visits to the Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, better known as, Wat Pho, and the Wat Pho Thai Traditional Massage Museum, a cultural heritage site, the Siriraj Medical Museum, and the Siriraj Pimuksthan Museum.
