On July 3, 2024, MDKMITL was honored to welcome guests from the Executive Medical Governance Certification Program (Class 3): Dr. Apirom Vechaputi, Former Director of Ubon Ratchathani Cancer Hospital and Prasat Neurological Institute and D Advisor to the Subcommittee on Medical Innovation and Technology under the Senate Committee on Public Health; Clinical Professor Dr. Paisan Ruamviboonsuk, Former President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand; Dr. Mungkorn Thanasarnsin, Executive and Advisor of Lion (Thailand) Co., Ltd, CEO JWD Info Logistics, Public Co.; Khun Mangkorn Dhanasarnsil, Executive and Advisor of Lion (Thailand) Co., Ltd.; Khun Nathaporn Bunbubpha , Chairman of MP Group (Thailand); Khun Phanida Panyangam, Former Executive Director of the Pharmaceutical Producers Association, member of subcommittee for continuing education of the Pharmacy Council; Khun Ratana Anupatsanan, Former Inspector General, Revenue Department of Thailand, Audit Committee Member, Techno Medical Public Co., Ltd.; Dr. Suradech Waleeittikul, Former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor; and Dr. Athit Jiaranaisilavong, Vice President, Praram 9 Hospital.

On June 25, 2024, we started our official onsite MDKMITL PreMed Camp 2024. This camp aims to provide first-year medical students with crucial skills in an informal setting, aiding their adjustment to the new environment before the academic year starts. It also serves as a great opportunity for students to become acquainted with their peers.
The onsite PreMed Camp event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Sranya Phaisawang, Associate Dean at MDKMITL, and Asst. Prof. Fingani A. Mphande-Nyasulu, Ph.D. They welcomed the new students and discussed the MDKMITL DNA+ Student Code of Conduct, highlighting the importance of professionalism, ethics, and manners within the MDKMITL family to foster a supportive and respectful community.

On June 24th, 2024, we welcomed our new international medical students and their parents. The morning began with a contract signing ceremony, marking the start of their journey with us, followed by meetings with house advisors. These advisors will guide and support the students, discussing academic goals and easing their transition into the program. This session underscores our commitment to a supportive and collaborative environment.

The initial steps are crucial to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable transition into medical school at MDKMITL. To facilitate this, we have designed a unique PreMed Camp 2024 experience for all our new medical students. This special camp is intended to introduce them to the MDKMITL and provides an opportunity for first-year medical students to learn about various aspects of academic knowledge, learning skills, daily university life, and culture.
The camp will equip first-year medical students with essential skills in an informal setting and will help them acclimate to their new environment before the academic year begins. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know their friends, senior students, and instructors.

On Monday, May 27, 2024, during the MDKMITL Annual Seminar, faculty members went to Petchaburi Province. We participated in a program on wastewater and community waste management inspired by the King’s initiatives. Activities included expert lectures, a video presentation, a project tour, and exploring Laem Phak Bia. We also released Chitralada tilapia fish into treatment ponds as part of our CSR activities.

On May 10th, 2024, we celebrated a significant milestone: the graduation of our inaugural cohort of international medical students at “The Great Gatsby Graduation Gala” held at Gaysorn Urban Resort, Gaysorn Tower. This event marks the beginning of their journey as doctors, and we extend our warmest wishes for their success in their medical careers.
The MDKMITL program is committed to fostering a new generation of international medical students. Our goal is not only to train doctors but also to cultivate well-rounded professionals. We focus on developing robust professional and research skills, as well as essential 21st-century abilities like communication and collaboration. This comprehensive approach prepares students to become internationalized doctors—physicians with a global perspective ready to serve our community effectively. Their dedication and the skills they acquire here ensure a future marked by impactful contributions to the healthcare landscape.

On April 22, 2024, MDKMITL was honored to welcome guests from the International Academic Partnership Program: Ms. Stephanie Alt-Lamm, Senior Director of the Master of International Development Policy at Duke University; Dr. Michael Lazzara, Associate Vice Provost of Academic Programs and Partnerships at Global Affairs, University of California, Davis; Mr. Marty Bennett, Director of Global Recruitment and Partnerships at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Dr. Holly Myers, Dean of Health Sciences at Davidson-Davie Community College; and Mr. Dick Custin and his team from the US Embassy.

On Monday, March 4, 2024, MDKMITL was honored to welcome Mr. Sanjeev Chowdhury, Senior Trade Commissioner, Mr. Christophe Rouleau, Trade Commissioner and the entire Trade Commissioner Service Team from the Embassy of Canada to Thailand to our Y1 World Culture Class. Mr. Chowdhury’s insightful and inspiring session covered aspects of diplomatic and embassy duties, Canada’s history and the healthcare landscape in their great nation.
We were even treated to a taste of Canada with delicious “Timbits” from Tim Horton’s, a staple of Canadian coffee culture. An exciting interactive mobile app game by Mr. Rouleau tested the student’s understanding of the content during the entire presentation with valuable prizes from the Canadian Embassy. To end the informative yet fun-filled session, Mr. Chowdhury went above and beyond to offer his own personal advice for our young medical students on how to develop their professional and interpersonal skills to become upstanding contributors to our society.
