MDKMITL World Culture Academic Trip 2025 – Day 2
On February 9, 2025, we continued our journey by visiting the Dragon Descendants Village, a cultural site inspired by Lijiang, China—a UNESCO World Heritage ancient town known for preserving its rich Chinese traditions and historical significance.
Next, we traveled to Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, an important temple located along the Suphan Buri River in the heart of the ancient city of Suphan Buri. While the exact construction date remains unknown, this temple features a magnificent Prang (Khmer-style tower) that showcases the architectural grandeur of its time. We also had the opportunity to pay respects to Luang Por To at Wat Pa Lelai.
A special thank you to Dr. Soros Pariyattikaraphan, our expert tour guide, who accompanied us throughout Suphan Buri Province, sharing his extensive knowledge and historical insights.
After exploring Suphan Buri, we traveled to Ayutthaya Province to visit the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, which was established to preserve and exhibit significant artifacts discovered at Wat Ratchaburana’s Prang and other archaeological sites in Ayutthaya, Thailand’s ancient former capital. We would also like to express our gratitude to Mr. Wanchai Pramoul, who provided us with valuable insights during our visit. We were deeply impressed by the historical artifacts on display at the museum.
